phpFlow
Most website content management systems force the designer and developer to use a built-in administration program for adding, editing and deleting content. These CMS' rarely work with common web design tools like Dreamweaver and more often than not impose restrictions on how a website is laid out and designed. Traditionally it takes an extensive amount of work and sometimes programming knowledge in order to customize these CMS' templates and skin features. phpFlow attempts to change all that.
phpFlow has been designed from the ground up to not interfere in any way with the design process that web developers are comfortable with. With phpFlow you can create and edit an entire site using common tools like Dreamweaver and simply upload the files to the web server. Once uploaded phpFlow makes note of any changes you've made to a file, processes it and stores the finished copy of the file. The entire editing history of a file is saved so that you can revert or refer to previous versions of a file at any time. phpFlow also offers a text processor which searches for special tags in your files and then converts them to dynamic features you need for your site. For instance let's say you are writing an article for your site and you want to add a comments section to the bottom; simply place ${comments} at the bottom of your text and phpFlow will automatically generate and keep track of all comments made to the article. The text processing feature of phpFlow is also fully extendable so that new features can be created and added with ease. In fact, this very website uses phpFlow as its content management system.
Currently this project is still under early development so there are no alpha or beta level versions to test. An alpha and beta version of the system will be available for download in the coming weeks.
phpFlow is being released under the GNU General Public License version 3.
